Hybond Notable Projects
Mission to Mars
A company involved in developing velocity retardation equipment which would slow the entry approach of scientific equipment destined for the planet Mars, approached Hybond to assist in solving a highly technical and complex bonding problem, which was made uniquely challenging by the exceptional space environment of Mars. Substrate samples were provided by the customer to the Hybond laboratory and after a period of detailed R&D the bonding challenge was successfully overcome.
Around the World attempt
A company producing an essential component part for a unique aircraft undertaking a global circumnavigation attempt, was experiencing difficulties in bonding low surface energy materials to the standards required to withstand the extremely harsh environment and journey that the craft would be exposed to. The design team approached Hybond for technical assistance, and further to development work within the Hybond laboratory, a bonding solution was proposed that met and exceeded all the environmental testing required by the customer’s aerospace test facility.
Luxury Vehicle Interiors
The extremely high demands that automotive OEMs place on their interiors to ensure the integrity of the finished materials are well known to all who operate within the automotive environment. Every bonded component has to go through vigorous climatic routine & peel-bond strength tests. Reaction to extreme temperatures, humidity, & thermal shock aging are all part of the adhesive approvals process. Hybond’s high level climate test facilities enabled us to provide a fully proven solution to a bonding challenge within the interiors of a well known luxury vehicle brand.
Race & Rally Vehicle Interiors
A bespoke manufacturer of carbon fibre racing seats, used by competitors on the global motor sports stage, was experiencing issues with adhesion failure caused by the extremely demanding conditions their seats must withstand. Such failure meant seating foams & fabrics could potentially become detached during an event. Hybond was approached, and after a period of testing and development within the Hybond lab, a seat was produced, tested, and the adhesive recommended proven to be a highly successful solution within this demanding environment.
The Shard; Interior Adhesives
